The Construction Workforce Taskforce has partnered with Build Your Future to establish Build Your Future Florida to help address the skilled labor shortage, according to www.rea-intl.com.
The Construction Workforce Taskforce was created via state funding and coordinated by the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Build Your Future is a national image enhancement and recruitment initiative for the construction industry.
Build Your Future Florida aims to provide a collaboration between construction associations, employers and government to satisfy the increased demand in skilled construction workers by attracting interested applicants.
“The Construction Workforce Taskforce’s intent is to align resources in the state to provide more access to needed training programs, retain workers already in the industry and promote the career paths of craftspeople,” says Dr. James Sullivan, director of the undergraduate program for M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. “Build Your Future Florida is a resource that plays a vital role in coordinating and connecting employers and prospective employees to fill the gap in the skilled construction workforce.”
Build Your Future Florida's goal is to provide a platform for Florida residents to learn about a career in the construction industry, find necessary training centers, fill the knowledge gap, and qualify for and gain employment in any chosen craft occupations.
