Upon registering for CERTA train-the-trainer courses, individuals must attest they have some torch-use experience. This basic half-day course will ensure CERTA trainers have some proficiency with torch use.

Amy Staska

Amy has been with NRCA since August of 2011 and previously worked for the association from 1996 to 2004. Amy has worked in training and education her entire career, including at Awana Clubs International—a nondenominational children's and youth Christian ministry—and the University of New Hampshire.
At NRCA, Amy started her work in health and safety; her initial projects were helping to author NRCA's first Safety Manual and Toolbox Talks. As part of the education department, Amy has helped with the startup of the Future Executives Institute, shaping and teaching For Foremen Only, and implementing the growing ProForeman certificate program.
Amy's responsibilities include working with the education department and NRCA University committees to ensure all NRCA University offerings are well-developed, thorough and meet member needs.
Richard Trewyn

Rich joined NRCA in 2015. Prior to joining NRCA, he was the national safety director for TECTA, and he started his career at FJA Christiansen Roofing Companies in Milwaukee in 1996. With a degree in occupational safety and health from the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater and his numerous certificates and certifications within the safety field, he brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to NRCA. He is an authorized trainer for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA's) 10- and 30-hour construction safety classes and an authorized Certified Roofing Torch Applicator (CERTA) trainer of torch-applied system classes. He also teaches NRCA's fall-protection and CERTA train-the-trainer classes.

NRCA understands circumstances may arise requiring a registration cancellation. Because our courses are intentionally small, last-minute cancellations and no-shows can significantly impact the program and participants’ learning experience.
If you cancel more than 10 business days before the event, your registration fee will be refunded.
If your cancellation is received within 10 business days of the event, you may send another person in your place or receive a credit toward an NRCA University program within the next 12 months.
No refund or credit will be issued if the cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the event or if the registrant is a no-show.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing. NRCA reserves the right to cancel an event. If this occurs, registered participants will be notified and will receive a full refund of their registration fee. NRCA is not responsible for any additional costs incurred, such as travel or lodging expenses.
