During this webinar, Peter Holton, managing director for Caber Hill Advisors, will discuss an owner’s ability to successfully complete the sale of his or her roofing business at a fair market value. He will explore the seven aspects of a business that determine how attractive it is to prospective buyers and explain why some businesses are worth buying at almost any price while others are difficult to sell.

Among the topics to be discussed are:

  • How does the market for a business with $10 million in annual sales compare with the market for a business with $20 million in annual sales?
  • How does the owner’s role in daily operations affect how sellable the business is?
  • How should customer concentration be measured when evaluating a roofing business?
  • Does business location matter?

Attendees will have an opportunity to evaluate their own businesses according to these criteria and discuss their companies’ strengths, weaknesses and overall sellable potential. Using real world examples from audience participants and Holton’s experiences advising roofing buyers and sellers, participants will gain valuable knowledge about the realities of selling a roofing and leave with actionable advice they can implement in their own organizations.

Before joining Caber Hill Advisors, Peter Holton was the managing director at Bridge Ventures in Chicago. He began his career working in the construction industry, spending nearly a decade at a large construction and facilities management company where he held regional and national positions in various roles. including business development, operations and sales. He received a master’s degree in management and leadership from Webster University, Webster Groves, Mo., and a bachelor’s degree in communication from University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio.

Holton is a proud consultative member of NRCA and the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association and has given several seminars for facility service business owners throughout the U.S.
