The CERTA Train-the-trainer Reauthorization course is significantly different than the original 10-hour Train-the-trainer course. Participants will advance their training and facilitation skills and receive specific training on the requirements of the torch applicator recertification class. The CERTA Train-the-trainer Reauthorization course is a six and one-half hour program that runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes a working lunch.
Prerequisites for attending the reauthorization class:
NRCA recommends completing the CERTA Train-the-trainer Reauthorization course before your original authorized status expires.
A CERTA trainer's authorized status expires three years after his original training date. NRCA will send a reminder notice regarding renewal requirements to all authorized CERTA trainers before their eligibility expires
It is the direct responsibility of all authorized CERTA trainers to notify their employers of pending expiration. The same sequence of expiration notices also are sent directly to an authorized trainer's employer of record.
If you renew your authorized status before it expires, it will be valid for three years after your ORIGINAL expiration, not the actual date you become reauthorized. For example, if your trainer authorization expires Nov. 1, 2007, and you successfully complete the CERTA Train-the-trainer Reauthorization training Sept. 14, 2007, your renewed authorized status will be valid until Oct. 31, 2010.
Program note: NRCA will send a reminder notice regarding renewal requirements to all certified torch applicators before their eligibility expires.
