CNA and NRCA once again are working together to honor charitable works by NRCA contractor members through the CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award. Submit any charitable project, activity or donation between Jan. 1, 2019, and Dec. 1, 2019, for a chance to win up to $7,500 for your charity.

Winners will be notified by Jan. 3, 2020, and the awards will be presented at NRCA's Industry Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception during NRCA's 133rd Annual Convention in Dallas.

Any charitable project undertaken by an NRCA contractor member is eligible. Projects, activities or donations do not need to involve roofing work; for example, funds raised for a cause or volunteer work at a children's hospital would qualify.
Each entry should contain the following:
The judging panel must have ample understanding of the charitable donation to best select winners. The winner of the People's Choice Award will be selected by the public via online voting. If submitting by mail, complete the entry form and include it with your entry package. All mailed entry packages must be received by Dec. 1. Please do not staple entry materials.

During NRCA's 132nd Annual Convention held Feb. 9 to 13 in Nashville, Tenn., the CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award was presented.
Showalter Roofing Service Inc., Naperville, Ill.
Showalter Roofing Service created A Roof Over Your Head, a 501(c)(3) organization that helps homeowners in need of household repairs, such as exterior decking, porches, stairs, railing repairs and cleaning, fence and gate repairs and more. In 2018, Showalter Roofing Service provided A Roof Over Your Head with material, labor and equipment for 69 projects. CNA awarded Showalter Roofing Service with $7,500 for its charity.
The second-place winner was Legacy Restoration, Plymouth, Minn., for its charitable efforts to Volunteers of America, which included making 100 tie blankets by hand for foster kids and families in transition; packing 150 lunch meals for children lacking a nutritious afterschool snack and individuals experiencing homelessness; and adopting 21 families for Christmas and providing gifts, among other efforts. CNA awarded Legacy Restoration with $5,000 for its charity.
The third-place winner was Core Contractors, Roofing Systems, Denver, for its work with The Other Side Academy, a training school that teaches pro-social, vocational and life skills and is available as an alternative for individuals facing long-term incarceration and those seeking change from the life they chose in the past. Core Contractors co-founder Andrew Schmidt spearheaded an effort to raise funds for TOSA Denver. CNA awarded Core Contractors with $2,500 for its charity.
Additionally, the winner of the People's Choice category was chosen via online voting. Beldon Roofing Co. Inc., San Antonio, won the People's Choice Award for its work with Susan G. Komen San Antonio; Beldon Roofing raised $181,800 for breast cancer research. CNA awarded Beldon Roofing with $1,500 for its charity.
