Abstract
This paper reviews current codes and design guidelines regarding wind performance of metal edge flashings, counterflashings, copings, gutter and nailers, and discusses selected case histories from Hurricane Hugo. It also offers conclusions and design recommendations. In preparing the paper, literature from Canada, England, West Germany and Japan was consulted on a somewhat limited basis in addition to literature from the United States.
