States issue new COVID-19 restrictions

As the COVID-19 pandemic worsens, states continue to issue statewide restrictions and closures to attempt to slow the spread.

Pennsylvania has issued new COVID-19-related orders that affect business protocols. A Stay at Home Advisory is effective from Nov. 17 to Jan. 4, 2021; this order does not close or restrict manufacturing or construction activities.

Pennsylvania also issued an order regarding Universal Face Coverings, which requires face coverings be worn in almost every setting outside the home and also be worn inside when in the presence of individuals from different households, irrespective of physical distance.

Pennsylvania’s Order for COVID-19 Mitigation, Enforcement and Immunity Protections mandates businesses must conduct operations via teleworking where possible. All in-person business operations must comply with specific cleaning and mitigation protocols.

Additionally, California has adopted temporary emergency standards to protect workers from COVID-19. The standards require employers in the state to have a written COVID-19 Prevention Plan.
